Fifty years ago today, the General Convention of the Episcopal Church officially voted to ordain women to the priesthood. The Rev. Canon Dr. Dena Cleaver-Bartholomew, our Diocese’s Canon to the Ordinary, reflects on feeling called to Holy Orders at a time when the Convention and many around her still said “no.” She also testifies to the impact of those who said “yes.”
